I am taking the role of the Running Monk very seriously. I want to run Bukit Kiara when I am 60 years old at 60 kg.
Let's see if I can shave it this year by August.
This year is the training year.
MWF - M: Interval, W: Tempo F: Long
TTh - Elliptical and Superset 9
Sat - Elliptical and Skip Rope
Sun - Walk
Daily mall walk
--------------------------------------
Wake up at 4:30 am (5:30 in Ramadan)
Start [running] exercising at 5:00 am
Every day for 1,000 days
That is the Gold Standard to be a Running Monk
60 kg is Princess size.
I will have to take out 40 kg.
I have to eat smart and eat less.
Tonight is the test.
--------------------------------------------
The most important thing is for me to utilize all my sports equipment. The most under-utilized equipment is the elliptical machine. That I must do, 3 times a week for 1 hour per session.
So basically this whole Ramadan is to prepare for the actual training in Syawal.
I still start tomorrow. At least I do the soft launch by waking up at 5:30 am (not to clash with Lizzie's suhur's time) in the morning. That way I use Ramadan to recondition my diet and exercise routines.
I just make use of my 5 km radius to exercise. Maybe I run 21 km at Bukit Kiara once a month. Other times I run BU 2. Just plug the headphone and off I go. Not even that. I just enjoy the morning solitude.
Then after I send Princess to the MRT Station, I do the mall walk.
That's my plan for the next 1,000 days. I kick off on Easter Day and on the Easter of 2026 I celebrate my 1,095 day [I celebrate my] Running Monk Inaugural.
That way it will be a quadrennial affair. This will be my biggest celebration. Let's plan for a 30 km run.
Yes, now I have a bridge. Instead of just 2024, I now have 2026 as my next destination.
-----------------------------------------------------
So tomorrow I wake up at 5:30 am
The countdown has begun.
Meantime, just walk the right path.
Remember to be among the rank of the insane. Just stay on course.
